VTT’s Startup Sauna Spin-offs head to Silicon Valley

VTT’s early stage spin-offs Zennis and renamed Advacam (former HI-Technologies) are chosen to participate on a field trip to Silicon Valley. Nine teams in total were chosen to participate on the trip.

During the trip teams will receive further training and meet Silicon Valley-based companies as well as potential customers and investors.

The leader of Zennis, senior scientist Ville Viikari has a positive experience about Startup Sauna. ”I think Sauna has been very energetic and motivating environment. The feedback has sometimes been tough and a lot is expected from the teams. But in return the coaches of Sauna give you really good advice, contacts and motivation. We have also met more advanced entrepreneurs within the program and their stories have increased the confidence in the opportunities of entrepreneurship”, Viikari says.

Viikari also likes the fact that the focus of the program is fully on doing business. This helps to evaluate technical solutions’ commercial potential in a more objective manner.

Startup Sauna ends on 7 June.
